As we closed up worship with a song about God's love this morning, I found myself dancing and swaying a bit. Slowly I became aware of a pattern being traced out, over and over, by my perceived path. It was a sideways figure 8. Over and over and over…

Absolutely. I experienced an instantaneous healing from chronic asthma. Prior to the prayer, I was on 2 pills and 2 separate inhalers to control a chronic, all the time, bout of asthma. I was not able to talk for even a minute before launching into…

A challenge when planning creative worship?
Creative worship exists easiest in small groups of people where relationship and numbers allow for flexible, creative worship. Our church if big. How to use creativity in a large setting to invite and draw people into expressive, engaged, creative worship that feels like that small group of people.
A favorite creative moment in worship?
At our church plant, I brought all kinds of stones, ribbon, candles, cloth, etc. As we worshipped, people came up in groups to build an altar out of the material. When it was deemed complete, we lit'er up as a beautiful offering to the Lord - a piece of ourselves individually and corporately. It was a beautiful moment where everyone participated and really were caught up in the moment and the beauty of worship.
A favorite quote or scripture about creative worship:
I love the house where you live, O Lord. The place where your glory dwells - Psalm 26:8 NIV

Nice stuff Cyndi. I like the thinking you have done around what you do, before you do it! Not enough people make that kind of close contextualisation to their congregation. Nice.

Thanks, again, to Eric Herron for his "Show and Tell" post! Glad I could be a "guinea pig" for this new way to connect with others on the site. Anyway, I mentioned that I created a PowerPoint presentation to go with the Genesis 1 creation story. It…

This makes me think about what my high school jazz teacher said: "It is the silence between the notes that creates the rhythm." Saying this was one of the ways he motivated antsy, immature, 16 yr. old jazz musicians to stop playing so many notes wh…
