Linda, you are one crazily creative lady. You interwove so many elements into this liturgy of weaving... spectacular. Too good.

Profile Information

The name of your church / organization?
St. Paul's Anglican
How are you involved in worship?
Worship Design
An aspect of creative worship you are passionate about?
Spiritual Theology, and Liturgical Theology

I define spiritual theology as 'an engaging in a dynamic congruence between what we think about God (theology), and how we live with God (spirituality). Most often, spiritual theology as approached as a theology of spirituality. I seek to invert that - and seek to explore profound theological concepts in worship, ritual and liturgy, and so encourage people's desire and will to live out Christian spirituality.
A challenge when planning creative worship?
See above.
A favorite creative moment in worship?
Lent 2005, when a friend with cerebral palsy lead us in worship, dancing on her knees to Steve Bell's 'Here by the Water' - chorus below.

Here by the water
I'll build an altar to praise him
Out of the stones I have found here
I'll set them down here
Rough as they are
Knowing you will make them holy
Knowing you will make them holy
A favorite quote or scripture about creative worship:
"Images or symbols are a necessity of human nature in our present spiritually sensual condition ... in order that we may conform our lives, all our thoughts, words and deeds, to the image of the thoughts, words, and deeds of the Lord and His Saints." St. John of Kronstadt
&
The love of Jesus reveals to us that we are important, that we are a presence of God and we are called to stand up and do the work of God: to love others as God has loved them, to serve others and to wash their feet. Jean Vanier

Thanks for the flowers! They have a delightful aroma :). Thanks for taking the time to browse through my pics and the very kind words. Both are flowers for the soul. Did you look at the ones here at CWT or at our website? At www.instantred.com, I've got mini devos that give the context to the texturized worship, but the archived devos only covers the years 2003, 2004 and a bit of 2005. Under "snapshots" I've got a few more current pics but no story. I would love to have more time to devo them all, but life is full and I've had to make choices. Unfortunately, devos got left on the chopping block.

Thanks Jim, I look forward to your liturgies! Writing liturgies is my weak point. I love designing visuals, and I love to write stories, but writing liturgies and prayer station directives is not my strong area.

Nice stuff Cyndi. I like the thinking you have done around what you do, before you do it! Not enough people make that kind of close contextualisation to their congregation. Nice.
